Grades 3 - 5

In the third through fifth grades, spiritual and academic responsibilities increase as students mature. Students assume a greater responsibility for their own spiritual growth through increased participation at Mass and acceptance of faith leadership roles with an emphasis on service to others.

Academic responsibilities also increase and are more rigorous. Students move from learning to read to reading to learn. Development of essential study skills occurs as they take notes, outline, research, and begin a daily homework routine. Students are expected to actively participate in collaborative group work involving goal setting, time-management, and self-regulation in order to successfully complete projects.
