I hope that you are all doing well! As we continue through the month of August, I wanted to share the following information with you:
Online Learning Orientation: This is just a reminder that we have the orientation for online learners tonight. If you are unable to attend, we will record the session and post it on our website.

Digital Academy: We will be sending out the parent Digital Academy log-in information shortly via email. You should receive your username and temporary password link. We will post a parent information video later this week with more information, but please feel free to log on and become familiar with the site!
Handbook: I have attached our 2020-2021 student handbook to this email. When you first log onto Digital Academy, you will be asked to electronically acknowledge the handbook. All families must acknowledge the handbook before our first all-school day of classes on Tuesday, September 8th.
Blog: Due to the amount of information that has been shared during the last month, we have decided to create a private blog with all of the weekly emails. This blog can be found by visiting our main page, clicking “Links”, clicking “Announcements”, and using the password SMS (all capital letters). Once everyone has become comfortable with Digital Academy, we will utilize that system to post our announcements and newsletters, but for now, we felt that it was important to have an accessible location to share this information.
Virtus/ PGC: We are going to schedule an SMS Virtus/Protecting God’s Children class in September, but in the meantime, if you would like to register for another virtual class, you may do so by visiting the following website: https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/reg_list2.cfm?theOrgID=18023&theme=0
Fingerprinting: All volunteers must also have a BCI fingerprinting record on file. We recommend Fast Fingerprints on Bethel Road: https://www.fastfingerprints.com/Public/LocationList.aspx?DisplayState=OH
Please simply tell them that you are planning to volunteer for the Diocese of Columbus (Saint Mary School), and they will ensure that a copy of your records is sent to the proper location.
Car Rider Tags: To simplify our pick-up process, we utilize numbered car tags. If you have a car tag from last year, you may keep the same tag. If you do not have a car tag, we will distribute one to you on the first day of school in the parking lot.
Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures: On Friday, we will send a map and detailed instructions for drop-off and pick-up. If you are a new parent who plans to pick-up your child, please bring a photo ID.
Transportation Number: If you have not received information from CCS regarding your route for bussing, please call: 614-365-5074.
7th Grade: Because of the number of students who chose our online learning option, we are able to house our 7th grade class in two classrooms rather than the gym! We have attached your child’s room assignment to this email. The locations and homeroom teachers are below:
· 7A: Mr. Tela (basement room closest to stairs- formerly Ms. Davis’s room)
· 7B: Mr. Webb and Mrs. Dieringer (first floor closest to gym- formerly Mrs. Daugherty’s room)
Lunch for Distance Learning: We are working with our cafeteria to determine whether or not students who receive free or reduced lunch can pick up meals once a week for the week. As soon as we have more information, we will be sure to let you know.
Preschool Pick-up Time: If your child is in preschool, we ask that you complete the following form so that we know when you will typically pick up your child for staffing purposes: https://forms.gle/ZL4VTEGJ2ELWAdmW7
Medical Forms for Prescriptions: If your child has prescription medications for school (either emergency or regular), we must have a medication administration form on file that must be signed by the child’s doctor. The form is attached to this email. If your child is bringing medication to school, please do not put it in his/her bookbag; please schedule an appointment and bring the medicine directly to the office with the form.
Staggered Start: For staggered start week, please keep the following information in mind:
· SACC: SACC is available. Please ensure that you pre-register your child using the following link: https://forms.gle/vURAqwXApwkJ6dcq7
· Breakfast and Lunch: Breakfast and lunch will not be served during our staggered start week (week of August 31st), so please ensure that your child brings his/her lunch.
First Day of School: Our first day of school for everyone is Tuesday, September 8th. We look forward to welcoming you all then!
Disinfecting Wipes: We understand that many of you are having a difficult time finding disinfecting wipes to fulfill the school supply list request- no worries! If you are able to provide a container, that is great, but please do not worry if you are unable to do so.
