Saint Mary School Announcements | Week of August 3rd, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope that you are all doing well! Our weekly announcements for Saint Mary School are below:

Reopening Information:

Reopening Plan: Our reopening plan that was sent last week via email has been posted to our website for easier access. Click here for the document.

Online Learning Contract: This is just a reminder that the deadline for the online learning contract (attached) is this Friday, August 7th. If you would like your child to enroll in the online learning program, we must receive the signed contract via the following link: https://forms.gle/vyaugqsjVXDwJqye8

Town Hall: We have received over 50 questions for our Town Hall session tomorrow- thank you! Truly, your questions are invaluable, and we appreciate your interest and input. If you would still like to submit a question, it is not too late. The link will be live until 12:00pm tomorrow, and the link to submit questions is: https://forms.gle/ycnMfpQBg3A8Si6e8

The Zoom information for our Town Hall session is below:

Meeting ID: 835 6874 0329

Passcode: rzTSv1

Transportation: We received a message that the transportation coordinator of Columbus City Schools has assured us that CCS will provide transportation for our students even though their district will be conducting remote learning. This is fantastic news for our parents! If you would like to register for bus service, the link is: https://www.ccsoh.us/Page/4818

Columbus City Schools: After the announcement last week, some families contacted us to see if we were planning on moving to 100% online learning. We are not bound to follow the same plan that CCS uses unless the governor makes a mandate like he did in the Spring. If that does happen, we will respond accordingly.

Letter from Superintendent: Our superintendent, Adam Dufault, wrote a letter to all families of students in the Diocese of Columbus last Friday. In this letter, he describes the diocesan approach to reopening, the tiered reopening concept, and the complexities surrounding the current situation. I have attached his letter to this email.

Online Store: We officially have a school store online! Orders for PE shirts, saint socks, and neck gaiters can be placed using the following link: https://www.stmaryschoolgv.org/store

Orders can be picked up at Welcome Back Night (see below) or in the front office any day Monday through Friday from 9:00am-2:00pm.

Welcome Back Night: Each year, we look forward to our Welcome Back Night where students can drop off their school supplies, see their classrooms, and meet their teachers. This year, our Welcome Back Night will be a little different, but still so very special!!!!! This event will actually be a 'drive through event' in our parking lot. The details will be forthcoming, but there will be balloon animals, snacks, school supply drop-off, school spirit and more! Save the date for Sunday, August 23rd from 4:00pm-7:00pm!

Athletic Director: I am excited to announce that we have officially hired Will Martello as our Athletic Director! Will is an alum of Saint Mary School who also works at the Schiller Park Rec. Center. His complete biography/welcome letter is attached to this email. Please join me in welcoming Will!

Athletic Newsletter: Each month, we will be sending out an Athletic Newsletter with sports highlights, important dates, etc. The August newsletter is attached to this email.

Again, thank you for all of your prayers, input, and support. We are so grateful that you are a part of our Saint Mary School Family!

God bless,

Miss Walton
